Southern Ontario Support

About Us

Eleven women from Southern Ontario met in Shakespeare ON on October 29, 2010.  Each woman shared a common goal- to explore the possibility of an ACWW society for Southern Ontario. The eleven who were able to attend the meeting are a portion of the 25 charter members of SOS and are all members of Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario (FWIO), an organization started in Stoney Creek, ON in 1897. As dedicated WI members, they know the importance of helping others and they live by the WI motto, For Home and Country.  Inspired by Debbie Bauer, they feel that there is much that can be done to help women throughout the world.   By creating the SOS society and inviting others to join it and actively participate in ACWW projects, both men and women will be able assist women and communities who need help and encouragement.
